The importance of document formatting

All documentation, particularly customer facing documentation, says something to the outside world about your business.

Firstly there is the substance, or content of the document- the tangible bit.

Secondly there is the, equally important, look and feel of the document - the less tangible, more subliminal bit.

The problem is, if you get the latter wrong, a potential customer may not even read the 'important bit'. Or, even if they do, they may have already formed a subconscious opinion that will put doubt in their mind, as to the suitability of your business as a supplier or partner.

The document process

By treating document production as a process, or business function, rather than just a task that somebody does as part of their job, there is no reason this should occur.

The authors of a document, concentrate on the content of the document and on their primary role in the business.

A document specialist, with extensive Microsoft Word experience, then ensures that the document delivered looks great.

The right person for the right job

Why would you want a salesperson, spending their time sitting at a computer trying to get a Word document looking the way they want it, instead of focusing on, and engaging with your customers?

It may seem like an additional expense, but having somebody who knows what they are doing, taking on responsibility for the way documents look when they are delivered, will have a positive impact on your bottom line.

An experienced document specialist can format documents quickly and accurately, assuring adherence to brand and corporate style, leaving others to concentrate on their primary roles.
